Journaled the day these little beauties started cocooning.

My brother, Luke, died 4 years ago today. A few years before he died, he worked at El Chico. One night when Jeddie and I went to eat there, I saw a vine growing out on their back patio...it had these beautiful vivid purple blossoms. I asked Luke about it. He found out it was called a Passion Vine. A couple of summers ago, I took Senior pictures of Darla Andrews' daughter. Darla is the manager at El Chico. She told me she had something for me that my brother had wanted me to have. And it was a Passion Vine! Today, Jeddie called me outside to see what was eating my Passion Vine.....today, four years after he's gone....... On a side note, the type of lens it takes to capture photos like these is expensive....and, my brother bought mine for me :)

If you're looking for some unique pieces of art....something that's not mass-produced....and something that speaks to your heart, you've found it!

Also, these lovely snowbirds:

These little beauties were feasting from a hackberry tree in my front yard....and as I tried to snap their photos through my window, I realized that the glare from the glass just wasn't going to allow me to capture their true beauty. Knowing that opening my front door might cause them to fly away, I finally took the chance.....and was so glad I did. I didn't even know what all varieties of birds were in that tree. It was just breathtaking that they were all just chipper, hanging out together in the same tree. There wasn't a single bird in any other tree in my yard! I'm hoping to see my art hanging in local homes and office buildings, or these prints would make really nice gifts. I also recommend either choosing to have the company frame them or choose the option of double weight backboard to have the photos mounted, then frame them without glass in the frame of your choice. This gives them an actual gallery feel.
Winter BIRDS
These are cedar waxwings, and various other assorted birds, captured feasting in my own front yard....a rare capture of some rare birds.
